William is in his fourth year at the University of British Columbia with a specialization in finance. During this past summer, William worked at HSBC Global Banking and Markets in Hong Kong. Prior to that, William was also a summer analyst at Character Capital Inc. and IVEST Consumer Partners, where he focused on real estate, energy, and consumer-retail.
Apart from NIBC, William is also the UBC Chapter Head for the Association of Canadian Intercollegiate Investment Clubs (ACIIC). He has also played competitive soccer for over ten years and has been a Provincial Cup Champion and a three-time City Cup Champion. During his free time, William enjoys snowboarding, working out, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.
Cameron Strukoff is a fourth year student at the University of British Columbia specializing in Finance. He has past experience with Morgan Stanley’s Power and Natural Gas Group, and later joined Espresso Capital, a Venture Debt firm. This summer, Cameron will be joining Scotiabank's Investment Banking arm within its Mining group. This is Cameron’s second year on the NIBC Organizing Team, returning as the Case Director. In his free time, Cameron enjoys mountain biking, diving and skiing.
Sofiia is a third year Economics major and Commerce minor student at the University of British Columbia with a specialization towards Financial Economics. During the past year, Sofiia has been appointed as the Vice President of two joint-major portfolios of AIESEC UBC: Finance and Business Development. Prior to that, she was the Assistant Director of Marketing at INVITRO, a leading biotechnology corporation based out of Russia. Furthermore, this is Sofiia’s first term on the Organizing committee of NIBC, as a Director of Conference.
Apart from growing her experiences, Sofiia enjoys her time snowboarding in the winter, wakeboarding in the summer, and exploring real-estate opportunities whenever time permits.
Jane Li is a third year Sauder School of Business student specializing in Accounting with a minor in Economics. She has worked for the past three years in wealth management with Respon Wealth Management. This summer, Jane will be working on an Internet platform company that she co-founded. This is Jane’s first year on the NIBC Organizing Team as Marketing Director. In her free time, Jane enjoys golfing, traveling, and being active in fitness.
Beca Yin is a fourth year student at the University of British Columbia specializing in Finance and Accounting. Currently, she is working in the retail arm of BMO. During this past summer, Beca did an internship with HSBC Global Banking and Markets in Beijing.
Aside from academics, Beca is the VP finance in Alpha Omicron Pi’s Kappa Beta chapter. This year, Beca is excited to join the NIBC organizing team as Operation Director and hopes to provide a seamless event. In her free time, Beca enjoys travelling, cooking and fashion.
Matheus is currently a second year student at the Sauder School of Business and is ranked first in his year. He plans to specialize in Finance with a minor in Mathematics and a mini-stream in Scientific Computing.
Matheus has been competing in international competitions of Math and Physics since he was 12 and his passion for numbers aligned with his business roots developed by being raised in an entrepreneur family. Matheus will be joining Scotiabank in Calgary as a Summer Sales and Trading Summer Analyst. This is Matheus’ first year with NIBC and apart from academics, he enjoys reading Brazilian books, soccer, and volleyball.
Ali is a second year student at the University of British Columbia, intending to specialize in Finance. Ali has previously worked at Vancity Credit Union and Canaccord Genuity. This summer, she will be joining Canalyst, a company that specializes in financial modelling, as an Equity Research Associate. This is Ali’s first year on the NIBC Organizing Team as the Associate Competition. In her spare time, she enjoys re-watching movies, travelling and reading.
Alexander is a fourth year student at the University of British Columbia specializing in Finance. Alexander has previously done summer internships at CIBC Wood Gundy in Vancouver, along with Macquarie Capital in Hong Kong. Other extracurriculars include being a Research Assistant to a finance professor, a Campus Ambassador and a connected mentor. This summer, he will be working in Nomura’s Investment Banking division, rotating around different groups. In his spare time, he enjoys working out, reading, watching TV shows, shopping, and traveling.
Mathilde Ho is a third year Finance student at the University of British Columbia. In the past summer, Mathilde worked at Canalyst, a financal modelling start-up in Vancouver. This summer, she will be completing an investment banking internship at Scotiabank Global Banking & Markets.
Apart from NIBC, Mathilde is a residence advisor in first year residence and a competitor for recreational soccer and football. During her free time, she enjoys swimming, coding, and hiking.
Amir Zanjani is a third year finance student at the University of British Columbia with a planned mini-stream in Computer Science. He currently spends his time helping students learn about derivative and option trading through his role with the Montreal Exchange, promoting and coordinating their option trading simulation. Previously Amir has spent ten years competitively playing hockey. In his spare time, Amir enjoys playing hockey, weight lifting, snowboarding and playing guitar.
Anna is a sophomore at the University of British Columbia, intending to specialize in finance. After her first year studying commerce, Anna secured an internship at Alpha Investments Inc., private equity financing firm in Vancouver. Aside from NIBC, Anna is a part of the Dean’s Student Advisory Council and Sauder Class Giving Campaign. In the past, Anna dedicated 7 years to dancing, winning multiple competitions on the national level in Ukraine. Shortly, dancing was replaced by competitive cross-country running as well as obtaining leading roles in yearly high-school plays. Anna enjoys to spend her spare time participating in extreme sports, trying multicultural food, and travelling.
Simon Hua is a fourth year student at University of British Columbia specializing in Marketing. He is the founder of two technology startups - a mobile remarketing company and a digital marketing agency, often leading the sales and accounts department. As this year's Media Associate, Simon aims to revitalize NIBC branding across all platforms. In his free time, he enjoys public speaking, weightlifting, and enjoying different cuisines.
