Sofiia Salimova

BA, Economics 2019
Director, Conference

Sofiia is a fourth year Economics major and Commerce minor student at the University of British Columbia with a specialization towards Financial Economics. During the past year, Sofiia has been appointed as the Vice President of two joint-major portfolios of AIESEC UBC: Finance and Business Development. Prior to that, she was the Assistant Director of Marketing at INVITRO, a leading biotechnology corporation based out of Russia. Furthermore, this is Sofiia’s second term on the Organizing committee of NIBC, as a Director of Conference.

Apart from growing her experiences, Sofiia enjoys her time snowboarding in the winter, wakeboarding in the summer, and exploring real-estate opportunities whenever time permits.

Adam Forsgren

BA, Economic 2019
Director, Competition

Adam is in his fourth year at the University of British Columbia with a specialization in Economics. During this past summer, Adam worked at Garibaldi Capital Advisors in Vancouver, BC as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst. Prior to that, Adam was also the Financial Systems Coordinator (FinTech Analyst) at the AMS of UBC as well as a Sales Support Technician at Element IWS, a world-class interior modular office spacing developer based in Calgary, AB.

Apart from NIBC, Adam has also been a team-member of the Finance Association of UBC and been the Alumni Relations Chairman for the Sigma Chi Fraternity of UBC spearheading a Mentorship Program. He has also played competitive Tennis spanning over ten years and has been a Provincial Cup Qualifier and a first-place Cities 5K U18 runner. He also frequently drives volunteer initiatives to help raise capital and aid for the BC Children's Hospital. During his free time, Adam enjoys skiing, working out, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.

Mathilde Ho

BCom, Finance 2018
Director, Case

Mathilde Ho is a fourth year Finance student at the University of British Columbia. In the past summer, Mathilde completed an investment banking internship at Scotiabank Global Banking & Markets. Mathilde was previously an Equity Research Associate at Canalyst, a financial modelling start-up in Vancouver and Case Associate for NIBC. This is Mathilde’s second year on NIBC, returning as the Case Director.  

Aside from NIBC, Mathilde is a residence advisor for first year residences and a teaching assistant for financial accounting. During her free time, she enjoys swimming, running, and hiking.

Arian Oftadeh

BCom, Finance and Marketing 2019
Director, Marketing

Arian is in his fourth year at the Sauder School of Business, specializing in finance and marketing. Last summer, he worked as an analyst for a real estate firm, analyzing and publishing reports on the latest trends in BC’s housing market. Prior to that, he worked in sales and marketing with Telus, becoming the youngest employee to be promoted to a management position, put in charge of building high-performance sales teams.

Apart from NIBC, Arian has built a Toastmasters public speaking club which he grew from an initial 15 to 200+ members and attendees. He also helped initiate a financial wellness program at UBC and can be seen at their events around campus. During his free time, he enjoys spending time with friends, traveling and heading outdoors.

James Huang

BCom, Finance 2020
Director, Operations

James is in his second year at the University of British Columbia with a specialization in finance. This is James’s first year with NIBC. 

Aside from NIBC, James worked in hospitality fine dining where he developed a passion for wine and cocktails and eventually went on to obtain his wine and spirits designation, WSET Level II. James was a former competitive athlete in both basketball and track and field. He played on the regional basketball team and won gold medals in both 4x100m relay race and discus throw. During his free time, he enjoys bodybuilding, playing poker, and spending time with friends and family.

Eric Hall

BCom, Finance 2020
Associate, Conference

Eric is a second year student at the University of British Columbia intending to specialize in finance. This coming summer, he is joining Deloitte at the Vancouver office. Previously, he was an Analyst at Gordon Investment Research, a highly reputed investment research club, at the University of Toronto. 

Outside of NIBC, Eric competes internationally in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu having recently placed second at the CBJJF Alberta Provincials and competed at the IBJJF Pan Jiu-Jitsu Championship in California. During his free time, he enjoys teaching relaxing, travelling, and spending time with friends.

Viktoriya Tsurikova

Associate, Conference

Viktoriya is a third-year student from the University of British Columbia and an aspiring CPA. Over the past few years, she has gained experience in different fields, such as real estate, accounting and consulting.  Currently, she is helping a Vancouver-based entrepreneur to run one of his businesses as a business manager.

Apart from building her career and working in NIBC, Viktoriya has a broad range of hobbies. She is an ardent personal development enthusiast. On a daily basis, she is expanding her knowledge about bodybuilding and nutrition, psychology and philosophy. Besides that, she likes giving back to the community by volunteering for different non-profit organizations.

Nina Erdevicki

BCom, Finance 2021
Associate, Competition

Nina is in her first year at the University of British Columbia and intends to specialize in Finance.

Apart from NIBC, Nina competed in professional tennis tournaments prior to competing nationally for the UBC Women’s competitive tennis team. She presently leads her team Finances and focuses on leading branding and web development for a start-up project. During her free time, she enjoys teaching youth, travelling, and hiking with friends.

Tennille Robertson

BCom, Finance 2020
Associate, Competition

Tennille is in her third year at the University of British Columbia with a specialization in finance. Over the past few years she has interned within Canaccord Genuity’s Wealth Management division in Vancouver, British Columbia. During this, she supported a senior advisor in M&A deals and IPOs. She also has experience with raising capital for a non-profit organization.

Tennille is also the co-founder of an events group, as well as a former competitive athlete. She was previously the team captain on track teams as well as the BC provincial basketball team. During Tennille’s free time, she enjoys working out, cooking and spending time with friends and family.

David Chernenko

Associate, Competition

David is going in to his second year at the University of British Columbia and he intends to specialize in Finance. He is currently working at Canalyst, and he is planning a missionary trip to Ukraine for 2 months. 

Apart from NIBC, he paints enjoys painting for both commercial and residential buildings, volunteering, and playing competitive volleyball. During David’s free time, he enjoys working out, playing the piano, hiking, and spending time with his friends and family.

Prithvi Khanna

BCom, Finance and Real Estate 2020
Associate, Case

Prithvi is a second year student at the University of British Columbia intending to do a double specialization in finance and real estate. This summer, he is working at Valitas Capital Partners and CMLS Financial. Prithvi also works at the Corporate Finance Institute in Vancouver and has previously interned at Ernst and Young (EY). 

Apart from NIBC, Prithvi is also an Analyst for the Association of Canadian Intercollegiate Investment Clubs (ACIIC). He has also played competitive tennis for 10 years in India. During his free time, Prithvi enjoys travelling, working out, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.

Doris Chai

BCom, Finance 2020
Associate, Case

Doris is a third year student at the University of British Columbia with a specialization in finance. During this past summer, Doris was an Equity Research Associate at Canalyst, a financial modeling start-up in Vancouver. Prior to that, Doris completed a summer internship in Toronto as Junior Accountant at a private college. This is her first year on the NIBC Organizing Team as Case Associate.

Aside from NIBC, Doris is involved with JDC West as a member of Summer Development Team. She is also an Academic Success Coach at Sauder School of Business. During her free time, Doris enjoys writing articles and short stories, swimming, reading and hiking with friends and family.

Mehtaab Chandi

BCom, Finance 2020
Associate, Case

Mehtaab is a second year student from the University of British Columbia. He first gained exposure working in finance via Sansar Solutions, a boutique accounting firm. In addition to winning UBC Finance Association’s Portfolio Management Competition, he has competed competitively in and won Chess, Rugby, and Soccer championships. Apart from NIBC, he is currently with the UBC Trading Group and MvC Capital.

During Mehtaab’s free time, he enjoys reading financial literature, hitting the gym, and playing sports.

Valerie Tsui

Associate, Marketing

Valerie is in her third year at the University of British Columbia with a specialization in finance. This coming summer she will be joining Canaccord Genuity as a wealth management associate. 

Aside from NIBC, Valerie has a passion for event planning, contributing to UBC Imprint’s top conference award. She also is an advocate for self love and self care and embodies this into her daily lifestyle such as working out daily, traveling and exposing herself to opportunities where she can learn.

Karan Grover

BSc, Computer Science 2019
Associate, Operations

Karan is a third year student specializing in Computer Science. He is currently completing a summer position working in Deloitte’s retail consulting arm. Previously Karan completed an internship at Amazon working in supply chain technology.

This year Karan has joined the NIBC organizing team as an Operations Associate and is looking forward to a great event. In his spare time Karan enjoys playing basketball, and travelling.

Maori Hayashi

Associate, Operations

Maori is a third-year student at the University of British Columbia specializing in Finance. This past summer, she has worked as a summer analyst at M&A Cloud, an advisory firm focusing on small to mid-sized businesses. Prior to that, she was the VP Finance at a non-profit organization where she pursues her passion of helping youth establish financial literacy and investment knowledge. This is Maori's first year on the NIBC Organizing Team as the Operations Associate.

Apart from NIBC, Maori is an Analyst at Share-project, an educational finance platform that conducts merger simulations and provides an extensive professional network in capital markets. In the past, she also played competitive basketball for 7 years in Japan. During her free time, she enjoys reading, dancing, snowboarding, and traveling.
